Candidate Road, School Staffing, Bud Fowler

Waterbury, VT, USA / WDEV Vermont Radio

The first hour is dedicated to meeting more state-wide candidates running in the August 9th primaries. First, we’ll meet Republican U.S. Senate candidate Christina Nolan. Then we’ll hear from H. Brooke Paige, who is on the Republican ballot for a number of offices. He’ll explain why. Beginning the second half of the show, we check in with national correspondent Bob Ney. Then, Alison Novak of Seven Days discusses the staffing shortages schools are facing for the year ahead. And we finish up by learning about Bud Fowler, the first professional African-American baseball player. He once played for a team in Montpelier.
